San Menaio

San Menaio ( formerly San Menaio Garganico ) is a fraction of the municipality of Vico del Gargano in Italy, in the province of Foggia, Puglia region and is attributed to the area of Gargano. The coastal village is located about seven kilometers north of Vico del Gargano, within the National Park Foresta Umbra. This tourist place between Rodi Garganico and Peschici in summer is almost exclusively populated by travelers and virtually extinct in the winter.

San Menaio is known for its long sandy beach and pine forests, which are among the oldest and largest in Italy. The small town owes its emergence in the early twentieth century fame to the writer Nicola di Serena Lapigio, the scenic beauty of the coastal village boasted in his works and the painter and comic artist Andrea Pazienza, the San Menaio made ​​it his adopted home.
