San Ysidro District AVA

San Ysidro District AVA ( recognized since 15 November 1990) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of ​​Santa Clara County. The region is part of the larger Central Coast AVA, San Francisco Bay AVA and Santa Clara Valley AVA. The vineyard is located at the foot of the hills of the Diablo Range. The climate of the San Ysidro District is much cooler than other areas of the Santa Clara Valley. About the Pajaro River, the vineyards are cooled by the sea breezes of the Pacific, so that here the early ripening Merlot grapes can be grown.
