San Francisco Bay AVA

San Francisco Bay AVA ( recognized since 20 January 1999) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area lies in the southern part of San Francisco Bay Area and includes the administrative regions of Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Santa Clara County, San Francisco County and San Mateo County as well as parts of the Verwsaltungsgebiete Santa Cruz County and San Benito County. The area of ​​the Appellation founded in 1999, is located east of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA and in a northerly extension of the Monterey AVA. The over 630,000 -acre region is part of the larger Central Coast AVA and is divided into four sub-regions: Livermore Valley AVA, Pacheco Pass AVA, San Ysidro District AVA and Santa Clara Valley AVA.
