Sandra Minnert

Sandra Minnert (born 7 April 1973 in Gedern ) is a former German football player. The defender from 1992 to 2008 in the Bundesliga from 1992 to 2007 in the national active. Minnert currently serves as club manager at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr.

Sporting career

Club football

Your football career began with six years at SG Usenborn. In 1989 she moved to TSG Bleichenbach. From 1990 to 1999 she was active at FSV Frankfurt. There she gained her first success as a German champion and Cup winner.

Then she played for one season at Sportfreunde Siegen. The greatest successes at the national level you get to the switch to the first FFC Frankfurt. There she was three times champion and once UEFA Cup winner.

In 2003, she played together with Steffi Jones in the U.S. in the women's professional league WUSA Washington Freedom.

Their international debut in 1992 against Yugoslavia. Over the years she became one of the best defenders around the world. It was considered a very determined and strong in the tackle. On 1 November 2007, she played her last international match against the Netherlands.

Sandra Minnert won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. In 2005, she became the fourth consecutive European Champion with the national team.

Others

Minnert learned the profession of dental assistant. After winning the 2003 World Cup, a street was named after her hometown in Minnerts Gelnhaar. Since 11 October 2008, is an honorary citizen of the city Ortenberg - the first woman ever and the only living person.

Together with the former German internationals Britta Carlson and Renate Lingor and the marksman Manuela Schmermund Minnert was World Cup ambassador for the Football World Cup Women 2011.

It was on 1 December 2012 at the Bundesliga club manager SC 07 Bad Neuenahr. For the Kurstädterinnen she was active between 2004 and 2008 even as a player.
