Sandro Calabro

Sandro Calabro ( born April 11, 1983 in The Hague) is a Dutch footballer who played for FC St. Gallen.

Football career

Early career

Sandro Calabro was born in The Hague. The son of a Sicilian father and a Dutch mother began his football career in the youth from Feyenoord Rotterdam, but not make the breakthrough into the first team. That's why he joined the club of his hometown, ADO Den Haag, at. He made his debut in May 2002 in a playoff game against Sparta Rotterdam. After two seasons with ADO, he signed with FC Utrecht.

Utrecht, Volendam and Helmond

In his first season for Utrecht he played regularly in the first team, but sat in the second season mostly on the bench. For this reason, Calabro moved to FC Volendam. There he shot indeed often gates, but this is not enough to fight for a regular place. Helmond Sport showed keen interest, and after just one season at FC Volendam Calabro decided to change in the Jupiler League. In Helmond Sport he was a valued player who frequently played and scored many goals.

VVV -Venlo

In May 2007, Calabro announced his move to VVV -Venlo. In the 2008 /09 season he became the top scorer of the Jupiler League and topped with VVV -Venlo in the Eredivisie.

FC St.Gallen

On 18 May 2010 the FC St. Gallen committed to the new season the striker, who joined free transfer and signed a contract until 30 June 2012.
