Sanjaasürengiin Oyuun

Sandschaasürengiin Ojuun (Mongolian Санжаасүрэнгийн Оюун; born 1964 in Ulan Bator ) is a Mongolian politician.

Education and professional life

Sandschaasürengiin Ojuun visited until 1981, the school in her hometown of Ulan Bator. In 1987 she completed a degree in geochemistry at the Charles University in Prague. She then worked as a geologist in a joint Czechoslovak- Mongolian expedition. From 1990 to 1991 she worked in a project of the United Nations Development Programme. In 1996, she completed her doctorate (Ph. D. ) at Cambridge University in Geosciences and worked a short time at the multinational mining company Rio Tinto Group.

Political career

In 1998 she moved to the politics of their home country. After her politically active brother also Sandschaasürengiin Zorig the murder they took over the constituency in the province of Dornod and was first elected to the Mongolian Parliament. Since 2000 she has been chairman of the party of the citizens will ( mongol. Irgenii Zorig Nam ). In the same year and again in 2004, she was re-elected as members of parliament. From 2004 to 2005 she was Vice President of the Parliament. and chairman of the faction of the Democratic coalition of the Fatherland ( mongol. Ech Oron- Ardtschilal ). 2006 to 2007 she was chairman of the parliamentary committee for the realization of the Millennium Development Goals and poverty reduction. From 2007 to 2008 she was Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. In addition to Mongolian they speak also English, Russian and Czech.

Family

Sandschaasürengiin Ojuun is married and has two children. Her mother is a very well known actress in Mongolia. My brother murdered Sandschaasürengiin Dsorig was a leader of the Mongolian democratic movement of 1990.
