The Santa Clara River is a 186 km long river in Los Angeles County and Ventura County to the south of the U.S. state of California.

The Santa Clara River rises in Acton in the San Gabriel Mountains. Then he crosses the Santa Clarita Valley, the Santa Susana Mountains and empties into the Santa Clara River Estuary Natural Reserve between Ventura and Oxnard in the Pacific. He drains an area of 4143 square kilometers. A tributary of the Santa Clara River, Sespe Creek, is one of the few rivers in Southern California who have been honored as National Wild and Scenic River.
