Saori Obata

Saori Obata (Japanese小 畑 沙织, Obata Saori, born April 23, 1978 in Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese tennis player.

Karrier

She attended the Fujimigaoka High School in Shibuya, which won multiple national school tennis championships of the girls.

In 2003, she reached the third round in singles, the U.S. Open and 2004 the third round in singles at the Australian Open and was able to celebrate its greatest success in Grand Slam tournaments. She also played for the Japanese Fed Cup team and represented Japan at the 2004 Olympics in singles and doubles.

On 1 June 2006, she resigned due to a knee injury.
