Sarah Burton

Sarah Jane Burton, OBE ( born Heard, born 1974 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England) is a British fashion designer and creative director since 2010 of the British fashion house Alexander McQueen.

Life

Burton grew up with four siblings in Manchester and studied at the local Withington Girls' School. Your studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, for which she had moved to London in the early 1990s, she graduated from in 1997.

She has worked since 1996, even during their studies and first as an intern, for the British fashion designer Alexander McQueen ( 1969-2010 ), was taken over by her college degree from McQueen and ordered in 2000 for the designer women's collection. After McQueen's suicide in February 2010, Burton took his place as a designer and creative director of the fashion house Alexander McQueen. Their first collection for the house of Alexander McQueen introduced her to the ladies fashion shows in Paris in autumn 2010.

In spring 2011, Burton created the wedding dress for Kate Middleton on the occasion of their wedding to Prince William as well as the evening gown for the bride and bridesmaid dress for Pippa Middleton's sister.

In November 2011, Burton received at the British Fashion Awards, the award " Designer of the Year ". In mid-June 2012, she was admitted for their services to the British fashion industry in British Knights.

Burton lives with her husband, photographer David Burton, in London's St John's Wood.
