Sarah Flannery

Sarah Flannery ( born in 1982 in County Cork, Ireland) is an Irish mathematician.

At age 16, she won the 1999 Esat Young Scientist Exhibition with the development of the Cayley - Purser algorithm. This is based on a work which it has done before in an internship at the company Baltimore Technologies along with their researchers. The project, entitled " Cryptography - A new algorithm against the RSA " ( original title: " Cryptography - A new algorithm versus the RSA " ) won in the same year also at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists. My 2001 book, published in code that they had written together with her ​​father, the mathematician David Flannery, documents the history of the algorithm and tells of the joy that she already has her whole life to solving mathematical puzzles.

Flannery studied computer science at Peterhouse, a college of Cambridge University. In 2003, she completed his studies from the academic degree of a Bachelor and then made their master. In 2006 she began at Electronic Arts to work as a software engineer. She helped in the founding of TirNua, the developer company of the online game of the same name, in which she is currently employed as a " Chief Scientist".

The lanterns of the St. Patrick's Street, a major street to their home city of Cork, are named after her.

Family

Sarah Flannery is the daughter of David and Elaine Flannery. She has four younger brothers: Mick, Brian, David and Eamonn. Mick Flannery is an Irish singer and songwriter.

She attended a girls' primary school and a mixed secondary school.
