Sarah Nemtsov

Sarah Nemtsov (b. Reuter, born May 28, 1980 in Oldenburg ) is a German composer.

Artistic Career

In 1987, she received her first music lessons, first compositions were created. From 1998 to 2000 she was a young student of composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover with Nigel Osborne. Since 2000 she has studied the oboe and composition at the same institution and later at the University of the Arts Berlin. Its main composition teachers were John Schollhorn and Walter Zimmermann.

She worked among others with the Nomos- Quartett, Ensemble Accroche Note, the "New Ensemble Hannover ", the ensemble experiments, as well as the International Ensemble Modern Academy together. Your works are performed at internationally renowned festivals such as the ISCM World New Music Festival, Strasbourg Musica Festival, the " Sound Workshop " in Berlin, the festival " A • DEvantgarde " in Munich, the " sound business days " Hamburg or "Music 21" Lower Saxony. In 2012 she was awarded the German Grammy in the category of young talent.

Works

Several of her works have been published in the Berliner Verlag "edition vita nova ". Your chamber opera " heartland " by Paul Celan's correspondence was premiered in 2006 in Hanover, among others in the series " unheard music " (Berlin ) presented. 2011 there was a new production of " heartland " at the Bavarian State Opera. The vocal work Hoqueti was premiered at the Donaueschingen Music Festival on October 16, 2011.

Their full-length opera " L' Absence" according to the " Book of Questions " by Edmond Jabès was premiered in May 2012 at the 13th Munich Biennale. The opera is published by Peermusic Classical.

Private

Sarah Nemtsov is married to the pianist and musicologist Jascha Nemtsov.
