Saruma henryi is a plant from the family of Osterluzeigewächse ( Aristolochiaceae ). It is the only species in the genus Saruma.

Description

Saruma henryi is an erect, perennial herbaceous plant. The strong rhizomes have a diameter of about 5 mm. The roots are fragrant. The leaves are heart-shaped and alternate. The stems are gray - brown haired and 0.5 to 1 meter high. The petiole is 3-12 cm long and hairy. Leaf blade measures 6 to 15 × 5 to 13 centimeters and is heart-shaped. Your tip is short acuminate, their reason is heart-shaped.

The flower stem is 2 to 3.5 inches long and hairy. The flowers are worn by petioles, are individually and always terminal. The perianth is radial symmetry. The sepals are fused at the base. The three calyx lobes are ovate and about 10 × 7 mm in size. The three petals are about 10 × 8 mm in size, yellow to yellow-green, heart-shaped to kidney-shaped, nailed and non- grow. The 12 stamens are arranged approximately 2 millimeters in size and in two series. The stamens are inflated and curved at the tip. The anthers are bent elongated and inward. The ovary is medium ever. Occurrence

The species occurs in China in Gansu, Guizhou, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shaanxi and Sichuan. It grows in dense forests in valleys and along river banks at altitudes of 600 to 1,000 meters.

System

The genus Saruma and the type Saruma henryi were first described in 1889 by Daniel Oliver. Saruma henryi is the only species of the genus Saruma.

Saruma henryi is used medicinally.
