Sassafras (horse)

Sassafras ( Thoroughbred horse; * 1967, † 1988) was a successful French horse racing horse.

After taking his regular jockey Yves Saint -Martin already highly doped group won 1 race Prix du Jockey Club and Prix Royal Oak in 1970, he took in October of the same year at the famous Prix de l' Arc de Triomphe on the racetrack Longchamp Paris, where he ridden by Lester Piggott to favorites Nijinsky II beat by a head.

After his playing career, Sassafras has been used in breeding.

Sassafras was euthanized on December 7, 1988, at the stud Pillar Stud (now called Magdalene farm ) buried in Lexington in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
