SBC Communications

The SBC Communications Inc. ( Southwestern Bell Corporation ) was the largest regional fixed-line telecommunications provider in the United States. SBC had mainly specialized in wireless communications and Internet access and was in competition with companies such as Verizon, Covad, BellSouth and Qwest.

In 1999 the company achieved a turnover of 49.49 billion U.S. dollars.

After purchasing the former parent company AT & T in November 2005, AT & T has been adopted as the new name of the society as a whole.
