SC Bümpliz 78

The SC Bümpliz 78 is a Swiss football club from the Bernese district Bümplizstrasse. The club currently playing in the second league Interregional, the fifth division of Switzerland.

History

The SC Bümpliz 78 was created in 1978 from a merger of the two clubs FC Bümplizstrasse and FC Rot-Weiss Bümplizstrasse. The team played in their first season in the 3rd league and entered the same on the 2nd league. With little money, the club managed in the 1984/85 season promotion to the 1st League. During this time, the two brothers René and Sutter Alain Sutter went their separate ways. René was lured away from BSC Young Boys and Alain took the Grasshopper Club Zurich a new employer. The SC Bümplizstrasse immediately rose again in the second league. Only in 1990, managed the Bümplizer the return to the first league.
