Schackenthal is a district of the town Aschersleben Salzlandkreis in Saxony- Anhalt.

The town was first mentioned in 965 under the name Scakendal documented. As of 1019 the village was owned by the diocese of Bamberg.

The village is characterized by the village church, which was consecrated on 31 October 1937.

On 1 January 2009 Schackenthal was incorporated into Aschersleben.
