Culture and sights

St. Kilian's Church

The Schackstedter Church is the only Kilian's Church in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Anhalt, there are three more in the area of ​​Naumburg in Saxony -Anhalt.

The present building stands in the tradition of the old church, which was demolished at the end of the 19th century. Its history dates back possibly to the time of iroschottischen monks in the 8th century and can be considered therefore as the earliest site of Christianity in Anhalt. There was probably at that time to the present Kirchberg a monastery cell, founded by a monk iroschottischen, a so-called " Island of Saints ".

The rectory, built in the same style as the brick church is rented and used for religious purposes. Furthermore, part of the rectory a large garden, which is regaining form only since recent years.
