Drohndorf is a district of the town Aschersleben Salzlandkreis in Saxony- Anhalt. Drohndorf was up to the annexation to Aschersleben on 1 January 2008, an independent municipality with 514 inhabitants ( 31 December 2007) on an area of 6.11 km ² in the administrative community Aschersleben / country. The selected last time on 13 June 2004 council was composed of eight council members, of whom belonged to the four factions of the CDU and SPD. Last mayor of the municipality was Manfred pot.

Geography

The place is in Wippertal between Hettstedt in Mansfeld and Aschersleben, gateway to the resin. The region is mainly used for agriculture, but can also show a large wind farm. Drohndorf is on the railway tracks Güsten - Sangerhausen and Halle- Halberstadt, about seven miles southeast of the town of Aschersleben. The station Drohndorf - Mehringen is located on the railway line Halle- Halberstadt. History

In the Romanesque village church of the place depends not only on three major, one of the oldest bells in Germany. The approximately 100 kg and about 52 cm wide bell is indeed dated to the year 1098, but it must be regarded, according to experts, due to their ribbed design as a work of the early 12th century.

Next to the old bell in the church ( 1079 ) is available in Drohndorf still the Luther House, which was once John Luther, a nephew of the Reformer Martin Luther, lived and still family owned is a direct descendant today.
