Schecter Guitar Research

The Schecter Guitar Research is an American electric guitar and bass guitar manufacturer based in Burbank ( California).

Founded in 1976 by David Schecter in Van Nuys, the company originally made replacement parts for guitars, and brought 1989 own guitar models on the market. Later followed basses and amplifiers. The instruments are used primarily in metal and hard rock, but can also be found in jazz and blues field application. Sales are made in relatively small quantities via external trading partners in the U.S. and Europe. 2006, the first European showroom opened in Hannover.

Schecter has also " Signature" series in the range, that guitar models, their design and technical equipment of well-known musicians have influenced, for example, inspired by the American metalcore band Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold Custom Series ( guitarist Zacky Vengeance & Synyster Gates ). Famous musicians who play the guitar or bass from Schecter are, for example, Robert Smith of The Cure, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, Jeff Loomis of Nevermore or Sami Yli- Sirniö of Waltari. Also Alternative Metal / Nu Metal bands like Papa Roach (guitarist Jerry Horton ) or Seether ( singer and guitarist Shaun Morgan ) play instruments by Schecter.
