The district of Pomerania was a Prussian administrative district, which consisted 1818-1945. It included on 1 January 1945, the five cities Baldenburg, Hammerstein, Landeck i Westpr. , Prussian Friedland and Pomerania as well as 72 other municipalities and a Gutsbezirk (forest ).
Administrative history
After the reorganization of the circle outline in the Prussian state after the Congress of Vienna was established on April 1, 1818, in the administrative region of Pomerania Marienwerderstraße in the province of West Prussia. This usually consisted of rural areas around the town of Pomerania, where was the District Office.
And West Prussia - the new province of Prussia with its seat in Königsberg ( East Prussia not ) after the merger of the former Prussian provinces - since 3 December 1829 circle belonged. The county of Marie Werder remained composed.
Since 1 July 1867, circle the North German Confederation and from January 1, 1871 belonged to the German Empire.
After the division of the province of Prussia in the new provinces of East Prussia and West Prussia Pomerania part of West Prussia was born on April 1, 1878 again.
On November 20, 1919, the Schlochau the new government office in Pila (administrative district Grenzmark West Prussia, Posen) was assumed. On September 30, 1929 local government reform took place in Pomerania according to the development in the rest of the Free State of Prussia place, in which all previously independent estate districts resolved to a neighboring country and communities were allocated.
Am. October 1, 1938 of Pomerania was annexed by the resolution of the border province of Posen - West Prussia, in the province of Pomerania. The county " Pila " received for reasons of tradition, the term "border Posen- West Prussia ". On January 1, In 1939 the Schlochau according to the now rich uniform regulation the designation district.
In spring 1945 the circle area was occupied by the Red Army. After the war, it was placed under Polish administration.
