Flood

About once or twice a year leads the Schwabach flood, usually in the winter after the snow melt and after extreme rainfall. The water level is monitored at two measuring points BüG at Forth and in Erlangen at the mayor web. The flood result in the suspension of certain paths near the shore. Major damage are rare due to the largely untouched or at least undeveloped flood plains. This also helps to ensure that the Schwabach was rehabilitated in 2001 at some places in the city of Erlangen. In the community Uttenreuth one has found, however, that in a hundred year flood about 60 buildings would be affected. For this reason now discuss the construction of a dike.
