Uttenreuth

Uttenreuth is a municipality in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen- Hochstadt and office of the Management Community Uttenreuth, which includes the communities Buckenhof, Spardorf and Marloffstein belong. The ending- reuth indicates a cleared area.

Geography

Geographical Location

Uttenreuth is about five kilometers east of Erlangen in the Valley of Schwabach.

Neighboring communities

Neighboring municipalities are Dormitz (in the east ), Neunkirchen am Brand ( northeast), Marloffstein (north), Spardorf (northwest) and Buckenhof (west). To the south lies the realm Sebalder forest.

History

Uttenreuth originated in the 12th century with the expansion of the Empire State to Nuremberg.

On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality pond was incorporated.

Policy

Decades long time was the construction of a ring road through the forest kingdom Sebalder for the road from Erlangen to Graefenberg or Eckental a topic of debate. The battle between environmentalists and advocates of so-called southern bypass began in the 1970s. Coat of arms

The coat of arms description reads: About golden Wellenschildfuß, is under half a mill wheel black, red two diagonally crossed gold Reuten, covered by a silver heraldic lily, beseitet of a golden star to the right and left.

The two Reuten point to the origin of the settlement as a settlement clearing out the water wheel points to the location on the Schwabach, the two stars are taken from the family coat of arms Johann Friedrich Esper, who was a pastor in Uttenreuth and Palänonthologe. The color " Red / Silver " and " Gold / Black " refer to the former border location of the place between Brandenburg- Bayreuth and the bishopric of Bamberg.

Traffic

A good bus service is to Erlangen with the line 209 of the OVF. Nearest railway station is the railway station in Erlangen. Economy

Structures

Featured buildings are the Evangelical Church of St. Matthew (1765/1766) and the Black Eagle, which was built in 1516 as an inn and brewery. Today he is a hotel and restaurant. Church

In Uttenreuth there are the Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation Matthew and the Catholic community of St. Cunegonde.

Uttenreuth is birthplace of the oldest Christian fraternity in Germany, the C. St. V. Uttenruthia Erlangen (1836 ). Two coat of arms reminiscent of the association, one at the bay of the Black Eagle, the other is embedded in the Saegmüllerstraße, just after the junction with Marlborough Offsteiner street where even the war memorial is located.

Education

The primary school Uttenreuth, today in the Breslauer Straße, formerly of the St. Matthew Church, two old school building ( the old school, now used mainly by singing club, and another older sandstone buildings from the 19th century ) are still preserved. The local library is built at the gym between today's elementary school and the clubhouse of SC Uttenreuth.

Since November 2013, a Public bookcase was set up in the former bus shelter in front of the drinks market in Erlanger Straße 18. The use is free for everyone possible around the clock.
