Aurachtal

Aurachtal is a municipality in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen- Hochstadt and office of the Management Community Aurachtal. It originated in the municipal reform by the merger of several places. The most important places are Münchaurach, Falkendorf, sub Reichenbach and nine village.

Geography

The municipality is located in the valley of the west of Herzogenaurach Herzogenaurach. Neighboring municipalities are (clockwise, starting in the north ): way village, Herzogenaurach, Emskirchen, Upper Reichenbach

History

The community Aurachtal was formed on 1 January 1972 from the formerly independent communities Falkendorf, Münchaurach and sub ​​Reichenbach ( partial) and adopted the name Aurachtal. On May 1, 1978, added nine village. At the same time an area with about 50 inhabitants, was ceded to the city of Herzogenaurach.

The Benedictine Münchaurach was consecrated in 1128 by Bishop Otto of Bamberg ( 1102-1139 ) and repealed in 1528 by the margrave of Brandenburg- Bayreuth. The entire present-day municipality was in the range of the Office Münchaurach of 1792 now Prussian principality of Bayreuth and from 1500 also in the Frankish Empire circle. In the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, it coincided with the Principality to France in 1810 and came to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

The coat of arms description reads: Across from Silver and Black geviertem Wellenschildfuß ( representing the flow Herzogenaurach ) in Green with a silver falcon's head ( as a sign for the district Falkendorf ) two diagonally crossed gold keys.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing is the former monastery in Münchaurach, built 1123-1139 as a Romanesque basilica.
