Geography
Geographical location
Gremsdorf located in Aischtal, about a mile west of the highway exit Hoechstadt -east of the A3 motorway Würzburg- Nuremberg. The community has about 1,500 inhabitants and covers an area of about 13 square kilometers.

History
Gremsdorf is a rural residential community. The name goes back to the village of Gremi and can still be seen today as a bunch ways Village from the Carolingian period. The mill Gremsdorf was already mentioned in 1326, when it was acquired by Wolfram Steward of Herzogenaurach and the brothers Heinrich and Hermann Steward to Nainsdorf.
Gremsdorf in present-day administrative region of Middle Franconia belonged to the monastery Michel Mountain, which was a Mediat of the Prince-Bishopric of Bamberg. Since the Imperial Diet of 1803 the place belonged to Bavaria.
The Gremsdorfer office building where until 1826 the district court Hoechstadt was housed, was by the State for 1500 florins to the son of the late Michel Berger Official writer, Johann Leonhard Rinecker, sold, from whose descendants it the Order of the Brothers of Charity in 1895 for the establishment of a medicinal and nursing home acquired. In the residential and nursing home about 280 residents are currently housed.

About Regional Events
Nationwide gained fame Gremsdorf by events at the inn Gub that are regularly performed in the Bavarian Constitutional Protection Report. There were also National Socialist Black Metal concerts next state party days of the NPD and right rock concerts. Thanks to the commitment of the Alliance Gremsdorf is colorful and the use of Mayor Waldemar Kleetz found since 2008 in Gremsdorf no more right-wing events instead.

The coat of arms description reads: Split of silver and blue, front left one inverted red wing with consequent increasing arm holding up a red cross bar, rear half a silver mill wheel at the gap.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector and 76 in the area of trade and transport 8 persons work at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 297 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 462 in the manufacturing sector, there were two farms, in construction 2 companies. In addition, in 1999, there were 35 farms with an agricultural area of 465 hectares, of which 302 hectares of arable land and 162 acres of meadowland.
Leisure
Worth mentioning are hiking in the pond and forest areas as well as in the conservation area Mohrhof. Specialties in the five inns and guest houses are from September to April the Aischgründer carp. Accommodation with 140 beds are available.

- Augustine School, nationally recognized professional school of healing, care and education for health education for care assistants with 90 training courses in the accompanying practice, three-year training form of healing, care and education 30 training courses in the one-year practical training of trainees in the health education care assistance.
Social
In Gremsdorf is an institution of the Order of the Brothers of Mercy with a home, a workshop and a mine site for people with disabilities and seniors a day care center. The Augustine School is also located in sponsorship of the Brothers of Charity Gremsdorf.
