Scott MacKenzie (snooker player)

Career

MacKenzie began his professional career in 1997 and reached the 2004 Daily Record Players Championship for the first time, the main round of a world ranking tournament. However, he suffered a first round defeat against Marco Fu there. In 2006, he then managed even to the knockout stages of the China Open. In the UK Championship 2006, he also moved into the final round.

Already in the 2007/ 08 season, it did not go so well for him and he could defend his place on the professional tour just barely. After only three games he won at all the following season, he had to leave the main tour, and announced his resignation.

However, for the 2011/12 season, he managed to return to the Main Tour by his first place in the Scottish country rating. On his return he showed at the Australian Goldfields Open 2011, a rock-solid performance and won his first three qualifying matches.
