Sebastian Bachmann

Sebastian Bach (b. November 24, 1986 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German fencer. He is a five-time German champion.

Bachmann was in 2005 and 2006 German junior champion. In 2004 he won with his team the team standings at the European Junior Championships, 2005, he was the second-placed team at the Junior World Championships at. In 2008 he was second in the U23 European Championships. In 2009 he was awarded with the team bronze at the European Championships and silver at the World Championships. In 2011, he won team bronze at the World Championships. His best finish in the individual competition was the sixth place at the European Championships 2011.

In 2012, he won the European Championship in Legnano in the battle for the bronze medal against the Russian team. Also with the team he won at the 2012 Olympic Games bronze against the USA team after the German team just lost the semi-final 40:41 of the Japanese after controversial Kapfrichterentscheidungen. In 2013 he was European champion team in Zagreb.

Bachmann challenged until 30 June 2008 for the fencing club Tauberbischofsheim, after which he started for the OFC Bonn. Since late 2012, he trained again in Tauberbischofsheim. From 2006 to 2008, 2012 and 2013 he was German team champion with his respective club.

Bachmann is a sports soldier ( Sergeant in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Cologne). He first studied industrial computer science at the University of Cologne and is changed in the winter semester 2013/14 at the Hochschule Bonn -Rhein-Sieg.
