Seefeld, Bavaria
Seefeld is a municipality in the western district of Starnberg (Upper Bavaria). The town lies on the northern shore of Lake Pils and about 14 kilometers west of the county town of Starnberg.

History
Seefeld found his position as seat of the Counts of Toerring. On 8 July 1952, the name of the municipality was officially changed to Oberalting Oberalting -Seefeld.
Incorporations
In its present form, the community has existed since 1 January 1978. During the municipal reorganization in Bavaria communities Oberalting -Seefeld, Heche village were merged on Pilsensee and Meiling to the new community of Seefeld. Previously, the communities Drößling and Unering have been incorporated to Oberalting -Seefeld on 1 July 1972.
Population Development
In the year 1970 3.897 inhabitants were on the territory of the municipality counted, in 1987 there were 5,820 inhabitants, by 2008 the number had grown to 7,073 inhabitants.

Economy

Striking building in the village is the Toerring'sche Counts Castle, which was first mentioned in 1302 as a Fixed Schlossberg and received its present Baroque form in the 18th century.
In the district Unering is the Catholic branch church of St. Martin, a central building of the Rococo, built around 1732 by Johann Michael Fischer.
The Church of St. Peter and Paul is located in the district Oberalting, at Marienplatz. It is a " Baroque style neo-gothic building " with a history dating back some 1200 years back.
The first mentioned in documents in the 14th century parish church of St. Michael in the district Heche village is a choir and tower plant in 1772 in Baroque style.
