Sekule

Sekule ( German shekels, Hungarian Székelyfalva - to 1882 Szekula ) is a municipality in western Slovakia Kraj Trnava.

It lies in the Zahorie region, east of the border triangle Slovakia - Czech Republic - Austria, located at the confluence of the Morava, Thaya and Myjava, 32 km from Senica and 55 km from Bratislava. For community numbered next to the main town and the cadastral Kameň, but this has since June 11, 2007 not official more.

The first written mention was made in 1402 as Boldogazzonfalva and belonged to the estate of Castle Scharfstein. It used to be inhabited by Székelys who served here as border guards.
