Semka Sokolović-Bertok

Semka Sokolović - Bertok ( born December 22, 1935 in Sarajevo, † March 4, 2008 in Zagreb) was a Yugoslav and Croatian actress.

Besides her work at a theater in Zagreb, she was known for numerous film roles. Among other things, she appeared in 1967 in the TV movie Kineski zid ( a film adaptation of Max Frisch's play The Great Wall ) with. Also a supporting role she played in La Corta notte delle bambole di vetro (1971, directed by Aldo Lado, German Title: Death Syndrome ) in which Ingrid Thulin and Mario Adorf played the lead roles.

In the television miniseries Roko i Cicibela ( Roko and Cicibela, 1978, directed by Stipe Delić ), she played the female lead. One of the main roles (as school director ), she starred in the satirical film Majstori, Majstori! (1980, directed by Goran Marković ). In theaters in the German-speaking she was last in the film Grbavica - Grbavica (2006, Director: Jasmila Žbanić ) to see.

In her youth Semka Sokolović - Bertok had successfully participated in chess tournaments at the republican level (Croatia ), it was eight times the Croatian Chess Champion. She was married with Mario Bertok, an International Master in chess.
