Sempiternal is the fourth studio album by British metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon. It was released on March 29, 2013 in Germany, as well as at 1 April 2013 worldwide at RCA Records and on April 2 in the U.S. and Canada at Epitaph Records.

Formation and style

Since the band did not want to write during the tour, she stopped all activities and concentrated on songwriting, which took place mainly in the English Lake District. The album was produced by Terry Date at Angelic Studio in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The recordings took place from July to September 2012. On the album can be heard bonds from the electronic music and the ambient. Also influences from post-rock were processed according to the tape. The album received a Parental Guidance sticker for " explicit text content". The album title is derived from the Latin word sempiternus, which in turn consists semper (always) and aeternus ( eternal) is composed. The album cover shows a golden flower of life on a black background.

Reception

The album reached # 3 on the British charts so far, # 11 in the Billboard 200 and was number 1 in Australia. The reviews were positive. On the page Metacritic.com album received an average score of 85 out of 100, based on 10 reviews in English.
