Serebryany Bor

Serebrjany Bor (Russian Серебряный Бор ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) in Russia with 4163 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The place is nearly 650 km as the crow south-southwest of the capital of Republic of Yakutsk in the southern part of the Aldanhochlands. Just east of the river Olongoro is accumulated in the system of the Aldan to a several -square-kilometer reservoir.

Serebrjany boron belongs to Rajon Nerjungrinski and is located about 7 kilometers east of the administrative center Nerjungri. The settlement is the seat and only town in the municipality ( gorodskoje posselenije ) Possjolok Serebrjany Bor

History

The settlement was founded in 1978 in connection with the construction of the thermal power plant Nerjungrinskaja GRES and received in the same year, the status of an urban-type settlement. The name is in Russian for Silver Grove.

Economy and Transport

Townscape end company is the thermal power plant Nerjungrinskaja GRES with a capacity of 570 MW, which was taken between 1983 and 1985 during operation. The power plant is supplied via a freight line which branches off at the station Nerjungri - Passaschirskaja of the Amur - Yakut Magistrale ( Ajam ), with coal from an open pit northwest of Nerjungri.

Immediately on the western outskirts of boron Serebrjany the highway A360 Lena runs (previously M56, until 2017 as an alternative number in use) bypassed, connecting the Newer at the Amur highway with Nizhny Bestjach near the Yakut capital Yakutsk.
