Severed Ties

Severed Ties is the debut album of posts originating from Brisbane / Australia post-hardcore band The Amity Affliction, published on 4 October 2008.

Formation

For the production of the album, the band invited several well-known guest musicians, including JJ Peters (I Killed the Prom Queen, Deez Nuts ), Michael Crafter (I Killed the Prom Queen), Matthew Wright ( The Gateway Plan), Helmet Roberts ( The Daylight Curse ) and Lochlan Watt ( The Surrogate ).

The album was recorded by Darren Thompson at the Third Avenue and broadcast studios in Adelaide. Producer of the album is the band itself, the album is distributed through Shock Records in Australia and New Zealand on Boomtown Records, the biggest metal label in the country world.

Publication and success

The album debuted on 19 October of the same year on the 36th place of the national album charts and stayed there for a week on. In Australia, the album attracted not only positive reactions. The Australian film company sought a lawsuit against the label, which called to end the production of the album and to use the already -pressed albums from the market, as some songs Samples of the films Hot Rod - Full speed through hell, Happy Gilmore and True Romance should have and that thus violates the copyright. The band recorded the albums already pressed finally off the market.
