Şevket Müftügil

Şevket Müftügil ( born August 7, 1917 in Malatya ) is a Turkish lawyer and was 1978-1982 President of the Turkish Constitutional Court.

Career

Müftügil graduated in 1940 from the Faculty of Law of Istanbul University and then took 1944-1951 postgraduate studies at the University of Zurich.

In 1960 he was appointed a member of the Turkish Court of Cassation and on 5 October 1970 a full member of the Constitutional Court. In 1975 he was elected vice-president and on 24 October 1978 the President of the Constitutional Court. He held the office until 7 August 1982.
