Orhan Onar

Orhan Onar ( born March 1, 1923 in Ankara, † 26 October 2009) was a Turkish lawyer and 1986-1988 President of the Turkish Constitutional Court.

Career

After Onar visited the Galatasaray High School, he studied law and graduated in 1947 graduated from the law faculty of the University of Istanbul from. He was appointed in 1954 as a deputy prosecutor to Ankara. In 1956 he was sent by the Turkish Ministry of Justice to France and spent a year working in Paris. On August 16, 1960, he was appointed deputy public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation of Turkey and puts on 18 August 1962 the Constitutional Court, where he served as rapporteur. In 1973 he was appointed a member of the State Council and in 1980 a full member of the Constitutional Court. On 28 July 1986 he was elected president of the Constitutional Court and was, until March 1, 1988 at the office.
