Sevnica

Sevnica ( German light wood ) is a city and a municipality in the Spodnja Štajerska region in Slovenia.

The villages and hamlets with 115 total municipality has 17,633 inhabitants. The town has 4,933 inhabitants Sevnica alone. The municipality is located in the south- eastern part of Slovenia on the Sava.

The town was first mentioned in 1275 as Liehtenwalde. Worth seeing is the castle degrees Sevnica. Presumably, the castle was built in the 14th century. Today the plant is used as a museum. From Sevnica to Trebnje there is a local, 31 -kilometer railway line.
