Shadow Gallery

Shadow Gallery is an American progressive metal band. It originated from members of the band Sorcerer, who played mainly cover versions, among others, Rush and Yes. After renaming the band Shadow Gallery the three remaining musicians Carl Cadden - James took (bass, flute), Mike Baker ( vocals), Brendt Allman (guitar) and later bumped to Chris Ingles (keyboards and guitar) on a demo tape. Most drum took over a drum machine. Then the label Magna Carta, the band signed and released the demo as a debut in Europe and Japan.

After Gary Weir Kamp (keyboards, guitar, vocals) was a short time later included as a permanent member, Shadow Gallery recorded the album Carved in Stone on their own. The drums were played by the studio musician Kevin Soffera. Three years after the debut was released Carved in Stone.

Another three years later, the album Tyranny by Joe Nevolo now recorded in the band was released on drums. When Tyranny is a concept album that dealt with the theme, the remorse of an employee in the arms industry, his actions against his former employer and the difficulties he aufhalst with it. The musical setting of the story is tight and anthemic. DC Cooper ( Royal Hunt), James LaBrie ( Dream Theater ) and Laura Jaeger contributed vocals persons involved.

After Tyranny, the band continued to work in the studio on side projects such as James LaBries Mullmuzzler, Explorer's Club II, Tribute to Pink Floyd and Contribution of guitar and keyboard solos for Ayreon and the further expansion of the studio.

In 2001, the album was recorded legacy. It includes stylistically on to Carved in Stone, which at the beginning of the album with the song Cliffhanger 2 is clear. The new album is, however, less "heavy " than Tyranny. The title First Light but has a playing time of over 34 minutes, yet entertaining, which is due to the numerous breaks and melodies.

Following the release of Legacy, the band went back on side projects and went to some time back into the studio to record the fifth album Room V. Appeared in 2005 Room V, which connects thematically to Tyranny, the label InsideOut. On the bonus disc of the special edition of the album features a long Pink Floyd Medley.

October 29, 2008 died vocalist Mike A. Baker at the age of 45 of a heart attack.

Despite this drastic and tragic event - some band members looked back on at this time, a 25 -year-long shared musical work with Baker - put the band continued their work and published almost exactly a year later, the album Digital Ghosts. The newly added singer and guitarist Brian Ashland sang five of the seven songs on the album. It is obvious that the band deliberately sets by Bakers death with new singer on continuity: Ashland's vocal style differs comparatively little from the Bakers from and perplexed, where he is doing this but, sometimes by large similarity to the song Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche. Guest musicians Ralf Scheepers, Clay Barton, Vivien Lalu and Srdjan Brankovic contributed to the album. Joe Nevolo played the drums for a just two pieces, all other drum work yielded Gary Weir Kamp.

Shadow Gallery played until 2010 never live and published no single.

The first live concert of her band's history gave Shadow Gallery on September 5, 2010 in Tannersville in the U.S. in preparation for a two-week European tour in October 2010.
