Shadows of Time is a German film directed by Florian Berger bile from the year 2004. The film drama about two people who miss over and over again in life, playing in India.
Action
An old man walks into an abandoned carpet factory and recalls his childhood.
As a child he was, Ravi, sold to a carpet factory and led activities than dyers and weavers. He has set itself the goal of zusammenzusparen so much money that it can freely buy. The girl Masha was sold by her father, the manager of the Teppichfabrick, she works in the deafening noise of the jute mill. Ravi and Masha combines friendship and noted as Ravi that Masha is to be sold to Kolkata on a white slaver, he gathers his life savings and buy them free. Ravi promises to wait for him at every full moon in Kolkata's largest Shiva Temple. She goes to the city where it is, however, snatched away from the road and ends up in a brothel.
Ravi, now grown has saved enough to buy from from forced labor and goes to Kolkata. There he finds work at an old carpet dealer whose granddaughter Deepa place at Ravi favor. Masha, now a dancer in the entertainment district, still full of hope is at the full moon in the Shiva temple; Ravi is also and believes they can be seen, but the love Deepa has followed him into the temple and Masha runs away because she thinks he's married.
Ravi sold to a wealthy man a carpet that would like to order a sought from him woman, Masha win. Ravi succeeds then to extend the carpet business and to trade with Europe. When one of his deliveries of goods at the customs is very long, he goes angrily to the customs authority in order to meet there the previous carpet buyer as a manager who was successful with his gift. When a meal is Masha and Ravi meet and are perplexed. You can not escape their mutual attraction for each other and begin an extramarital affair due to their Masha is pregnant. Her husband is set to Kerala in South India and Masha begs Ravi on to elope with him. Ravi comes to say goodbye to the station, but he can not escape his world.
Years later, Ravi has two sons with his wife, meanwhile, dipped Masha's husband on with him. He had come behind the mystery of the two and has chased his wife and the unmarried son. After his Oscar-winning short film Quiero Ser ( 2001) Shadows of Time Florian Gall Berger was first full-length feature film. At the box office it was a flop.
Awards
In the Bavarian Film Prize 2004 Florian Gall Berger received the Young Director Award and Jürgen Jürges the award in the category " Camera". Jürges and costume designer Lisy Christl were nominated for the German Film Prize 2006. In addition, the shade of the time at the International Festival of Love Films in Mons (Belgium ) for best film was successful.
