Shane McEntee

Shane McEntee (Irish Seán Mac tSaoi, born December 19, 1956 in Nobber, County Meath, † December 21, 2012 ) was an Irish politician (Fine Gael ).

Life

McEntee grew up with seven siblings. The Gaelic football player and doctor Gerry McEntee was his brother. At the age of 15 years, Shane McEntee joined the Fine Gael.

March 11, 2005 McEntee was elected at a by-election in the constituency of Meath for Fine Gael in the 29th Dáil Éireann. He moved so that after for his party colleague John Bruton. In the years 2007 and 2011, respectively McEntee's re-election in the constituency of Meath East took place. During the 31st Dáil, he held on 10 March 2011 to his death in the Office of the State Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture (Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food ). The by-election on 27 March 2013 renewal of his vacant seat won his daughter Helen McEntee.

McEntee was married and had four children, one son and three daughters. Before his election to Parliament, he worked as an animal host and ran the Pub Dee Local at Nobber. In 2011 he sold the pub.
