Shark 24 class yacht

The Shark 24 is a yacht with 7.31 meters in length overall and 953 kg displacement. It was designed by Austrian designer Georg Behind Höller about 1956 and built a prototype.

1959 was the Shark one of the first boats in the GRP series production. Lack of experience in the GRP hand lay-up were built this Sharks with clearly strong laminate. The International Shark Class Association requires that all the newer boats have to be built also with this very strong laminated, Sharks of any age can compete on an equal footing.

In July 2000, the Shark 24 was awarded by the International Sailing Federation, the status of a classic yacht, whereby the discharge of official World Championships has been made possible.

Characteristics

The Shark 24 is characterized both by its robustness as well as by their good all-round properties. Its slender shape, the large spread and the existence of many fleets offer the Shark 24 as a typical regatta keel yacht on ( until 1987 Yardstick value was subsequently reduced ).

Your good space, the Trailerbarkeit and good stability even in bad weather make it a very popular boating. With Shark 24 of the Atlantic have already been crossed (even on the more difficult route from west to east) and the Pacific.
