Shaun Murphy (footballer)

Shaun Peter Murphy ( born November 5, 1970 in Sydney ) is an Australian former football player who also has an Irish passport and played the majority of his time in England. He was also active for the Australian national football team.

Career

Murphy graduated from the Australian Institute of Sport to 1988 and then played for the Blacktown City Demons and Heidelberg United. In 1990 he moved to Perth Italia, 1991, he went to England to Notts County, where he was held for four years. In summer 1996, he signed a contract with West Bromwich Albion, 1999 to 2003 he played for Sheffield United 158 times. From 2001 to 2002 he was engaged at Crystal Palace, where he graduated from eleven games. His career ended in 2004 Murphy Perth Glory in Australia.

With the national team of his country Murphy could win the 2000 OFC Nations Cup. He was a member of the Australian team at the Olympic Games in 1992. Overall, he played 18 times for the senior team, scoring three goals.
