Shawn Myers

Shawn Myers ( born May 26, 1969 in Paloseco, Trinidad ) is a trinidadisch - British professional basketball player. Myers began late in terms of performance to play basketball and was after studying in the United States pro in Europe, where he is particularly active since 2001 in the British Basketball League (BBL ). Myers, in the 2001/ 02 season " scorer " BBL, won in 2003 with the Scottish Rocks the play-offs of the BBL.

Career

Myers operating initially as the main sport of football as a goalkeeper and trained with the national team of Trinidad and Tobago. He was elected twice in 1996 and 1997 among the top ten players in the Conference.

Although Myers in view of his advanced age of 28 years and an education at a U.S. college Division II did not bring the best conditions for a professional career as a basketball player, he dabbled in Europe in the 1997/98 season with the basketball club from Šilutė as a professional, where he played with the young Marijonas Petravičius, who had a degree in the U.S. before it. For the season 1998/99 he got a contract in the Finnish Korisliiga at Pyrbasket from Tampere.
