Shayne Burgess

Shayne Burgess ( born June 1, 1964 in Hastings ) is an English darts player. He replaces by the nickname The Bulldog.

Career

Shayne Burgess began his international career in 1989 at the British Darts Organisation. In 1992 he reached at the British Open quarter-finals, a year later he was also at the Winmau World Masters in the quarterfinals. In the BDO World Championships in 1994, he failed in the first round with 0-3 against Steve McCollum. In the same year, he joined the competition Association, the Professional Darts Corporation ( PDC).

In the years 1995 to 1997, he failed in the World Cup each already in the group stage. In the PDC World Championship 1998, he failed in the quarter -finals to eventual champion Phil Taylor 0-4. A year later, in the PDC World Championship in 1999, he failed in the semi-finals with 4-5 narrowly against Peter Manley and so missed the finals against Taylor. In 2000, he failed against Dennis Priestley in the quarterfinals. In 1999 and 2000 he konner not prevail in each case in the final against Phil Taylor in the World Grand Prix and lost with 6-1. However, in 2000 he won the PDC Northern Ireland Open and German Open. Between 2001 and 2003, the World Cup was over for Burgess already in the broadcast phase. In the PDC UK Open 2003 he reached the final again also to Phil Taylor, but failed again significantly with 18-8.

In 2007 he moved from the PDC back to the BDO, but could not achieve great success over there. His most last tournament he played in October 2012, after he had already left for the BDO World Championship 2012 in the qualifying round.
