Shire of Winton

Geography
The Shire is located in the center of the country about 1150 km north- west of the capital Brisbane.
Administrative headquarters of the LGA is Winton with about 950 inhabitants. Other towns are Corfield, Middleton and Opalton.
History
1861 roamed the expedition of Burke and Wills to the field and in the following years began the colonization of the area. 1879, the town of Winton was founded in 1886 and set up the local administration.
Management
The Winton Shire Council has five members. The Mayor ( mayor) and four other Councillor shall be elected by all residents of the Shire. The LGA is not divided into electoral districts.
