Shlomo Ganzfried

Solomon (s ) Full Fried (also: Sch (s) lomo Full Fried, Solomon ben Joseph Ganzfried; * 1804 in Ungvár; † July 30, 1886 ibid ) was outstanding Talmudist, the Hebrew grammarian, commentator of the Zohar, violent opponent of Reform Judaism in Hungary, but was best known as the author of the popular halachic work Kizzur Shulchan Aruch.

Life

After the early death of his father (1812 ) he came to the yeshiva of H. Heller in Bonyhad, but was initially Kaufmann, 1830 rabbi in Bresowitz ( Brezovica ), 1850, he was from his home town as a member of the Beth- din under R. Meir Eisenstadt appointed and served until his death as a dayan ( judge) in his hometown.

He became famous first by his guide to scribe ( Kesset hassofer, 1st Edition furnace 1834 is also on tefillin and Mesusoth ), Moses Sofer added. Most Popular was Ganzfried in the type of Chaje adam edited extract from the Shulchan Aruch, under the title: ( ". Brief Sch A. " ) Kizzur Shulchan Aruch, a popular compendium that is exclusive through a clear structure, the simple language and the distinguishes treatment of commonly occurring halachic issues of daily life. The book, first published in 1864, was reprinted in many editions and translated into several languages.
