Shoichi Kondo

Shoichi Kondō (Japanese近藤 昭 一, Kondō Shoichi; born May 26, 1958 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party (DPJ ) and member of the Shūgiin for the proportional representation block Tōkai. In the DPJ he leads along with Hideo Hiraoka a faction that Kondō - Hiraoka group, officially Liberal no Kai ( " Assembly of the liberals" ).

Kondō, the son of a Member of the Council of the City of Nagoya, studied at the Faculty of Law of Jochi Daigaku ( Sophia University ), from 1981, temporarily at Běijīng yǔyánxuéyuàn ( " Beijing Language Institute " ), now the University of Language and Culture Beijing. In the 2012 election Shūgiin Kondō lost his constituency by just under 4,000 votes to Yoshitaka Ikeda (LDP ), but won one of the four DPJ proportional representation seats in Tōkai. Since 2012 he is Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Shūgiin.
