Silent Alarm is the debut album by the band Bloc Party. It was released in the spring of 2005 at Wichita Recordings. With Silent Alarm Remixed is a remix album was released in the same year the album.

As singles " So Here We Are / Positive Tension", "Banquet" and " Pioneers " were "Helicopter " decoupled; the first single "Helicopter " previously on the EP " Little Thoughts" (2004) was published.

Reception

The album received excellent reviews. So forgive Plattentests.de nine out of ten points and called it a " continuous journey of discovery ." Allmusic and laut.de awarded the album four out of five points. In Pitchfork Media awarded it 8.9 out of 10 possible points.

Use

The song Banquet was in EA game SSX on Tour, Episode This Modern Love in 22 of Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother, Helicopter in FIFA 2006 and Colin McRae: Dirt 2, Marc Ecko 's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, Guitar Hero III and Burnout Revenge and the comedy Yes Man used.

Awards

The album was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize and the Shortlist Music Prize, but without winning one of the two.
