Simon Desthieux
Simon Desthieux ( born December 3, 1991) is a French biathlete.
Simon Desthieux made his international debut at the Junior World Championships 2010 in Torsby, in which he was 42nd in the sprint, afterwards in the pursuit race improved to a 15th place, which he also achieved in singles and won with Antonin Guigonnat and Florent Claude behind the representation from Russia the silver medal in the relay race. A year later he won in Nové Město na Moravě the singles title before Benedict Doll and Nikolai Jakuschow in singles, was seventh in the sprint and fifth in the persecution and with Florent Claude Baptiste Jouty and Ludwig Ehrhart each fifth. This was followed by the junior race at the European Championships 2011 in Ridnaun. For races in South Tyrol Desthieux won behind Nikolai Jakuschow the silver medal in singles, was fifth in the sprint and pursuit of the eleventh and won with Florie Vigneron, Enora Latuilliere and Valentin Gaillard mixed relay race behind the Russian representation his second silver medal. Next major event was the European Championships in 2012, where he came in the juniors used initially. In the sprint, he was 13, then in pursuit of individual and fifth. For the relay race, he was appointed to the A season.
His first international race among men denied Desthieux 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě within the IBU Cup, where he was 65th a Single Page. A little later he won his first points as a 33 sprints in Altenberg. In the home race of the season end in Annecy, the Frenchman was able to achieve his best result to date in the IBU Cup with a seventh place in a sprint race. The first international championship of men were the European Championships in 2012. With the other young runners Antonin Guigonnat, Baptiste Jouty and Florent Claude he was appointed to the A Season of France and reached as the final runners with this seventh. With the beginning of the season 2012/2013 Simon Desthieux started in the World Cup. In the sprint of Hochfilzen, his fourth race in the World Cup, he was ranked 37 and thus won his first points in the Biathlon World Cup.
