Simretu Alemayehu

Semretu Alemayehu ( born September 17, 1970) is a former Ethiopian marathon runner.

In 1997, he won the Murten run. He was second at the Frankfurt Marathon in 2:12:46 h following year he won the Turin Marathon in 2:08:33 hours and arrived at the Olympic Games in Sydney on the 22th rank in 1999.

The following year he defended his title in Turin with the course record of 2:07:45, at the same time his personal best. A fifth place at the Madrid Marathon Millennium same year was followed in 2002 by a sixth place at the Venice Marathon.
