Sinbad (TV series)
Sinbad ( Original title: Sinbad ) is a British television series based on the stories of Sinbad the Sailor. The series is erstausgestrahlt on Sky1 since 8 July 2012. Since 17 October 2012, the series in Germany can be seen on Super RTL.
End of February 2013, the series was canceled after one season of Sky1. The reason was mentioned that the story of Sinbad was all told.
Action
Sinbad and his brother beat up their own small crook in Basra through life. But when Sindbad accidentally kills the nephew of the emir, both are captured and killed Sinbad's brother. Sindbad may flee, but is occupied by his grandmother with a curse: he can stay on land only until the next sunrise. When he is not on time is back on the sea, he dies. Sinbad escapes with a ship's crew from the city and has henceforth only aim to break the curse and restore his honor.
Production
In August 2010, the Sky1 program director Stuart Murphy announced to have several new TV series, including a 12-part television series produced Sindbad. As a production company was sought, the creator of Primeval - Return of the primeval monsters, Impossible Pictures, from. The series has a budget of about 27 million U.S. dollars, the most expensive self-produced series of the transmitter. Filming started in February 2011 in Malta.
