Geographical location

Sinzheim is located in the Upper Rhine Valley about 7 miles from Baden- Baden.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the nine districts Sinzheim ( 5101 inhabitants), Kartung ( 2067 inhabitants), winches (990 inhabitants), Leiber Tung ( 822 inhabitants), Halberstung (660 inhabitants), garbage Mayrhofen ( 416 inhabitants), Spaulders (188 inhabitants), Ebenung and Vormberg ( together 929 inhabitants). The district bodies Tung is spatially identical to the former municipality of the same name, the other districts are in the territory of the former municipality Sinzheim. The official name of the districts is done in the form " Sinzheim - ... ". The districts also form seven residential districts within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code, the districts Sinzheim, Vormberg and Ebenung be combined into a residential district. In the district bodies Tung a village is set in the sense of Baden-Württemberg municipal code with private Ortschaftsrat and mayor as its chairman.

History

Sinzheim was first mentioned in writing in 884 under Emperor Charles III. as Sunninisheim, which goes back to the Frankish settlement " Sunini ". From this name evolved over the place name " Suenesheim " ( 1154 ), " Sunnesheim " ( 1261 ), " Suminsheim " ( 1272 ), " Sunzheim " ( 1401 ), " Sunzhaim " ( 1523) and " Suntzheim " (1610 ) of the today's local name " Sinzheim ". Sinzheim was 1945 target of a bombing raid in World War II, whereby the Sinzheimer station was destroyed on March 4. The place belonged to the district of Bühl long and came in 1973 to the district of Rastatt. On January 1, 1973, the incorporation of bodies Tung took place.

Parish

The Hauptbesitzungen the monastery Schwarzach in Sinzheim included a Fronhofs with a private church, a Romanesque church choir tower. The documentary confirmation of the estate by Bishop Burchard I of Strasbourg in 1154 is now considered the beginning of the parish.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms Sinzheims shows a red castle on a green hill Three on a silver background. On the highest tower of the castle blowing a red pennant. Next to the castle there is left a black Tatzenkreuz and right a red Sester, also with a red hook.

The coat of arms was introduced in 1903 in the review of all municipal seal in the district of Baden -Baden and contains elements of an old Sinzheimer court seal. At the request of the municipal council, a first draft was completed by the castle and changed to valid today crest.

Partnerships

The community Sinzheim is twinned with the southern French wine community Pignan in Montpellier since 1975.

Culture and sights

Nature

In the district Vormberg on the slope of Fremersberges are a mountain lake located on a rocky escarpment. It was created by the flooding of a former state porphyry quarry.

Numerous forest roads in Fremersbergwald are joggers and mountain bikers and walkers available.

Sports

The BSV Phoenix Sinzheim plays in the South Baden league.

The SV Sinzheim 1929 eV plays in the national league 1 Südbaden and is one of 25 countries participating in the game operating senior and youth teams ( 380 active ) to the larger football clubs within the South Baden Football Association.

Economy and infrastructure
